Activator (Time Thief) gave Alyson Wright and Muzi Yeni the first leg of a double together today and it was a fitting winner because the horse is owned by Christopher Peech, who gave Alyson her first ever job in racing on a stud farm in Zimbabwe. She later worked as assisitant to Christopher’s wife, the top trainer Noeleen Peech, for whom Alyson’s husban Kebin Wright was stable jockey. (Picture: Candiese Lenferna).
Muzi Yeni increased his lead in the SA Jockeys National log with a treble on the Hollywoodbets Greyville poly today and Alyson took the lead in the KZN Trainers Championship with a double.
Wright has had seven wins this season in KZN at a strike rate of 16.67% and is one ahead of Duncan Howells (25%) and Frank Robinson (37.50%).
Yeni has had 29 wins (21.97%) around the country this season, 15 of them in KZN, and he is ten clear of Richard Fourie, who had a double down in Cape Town today.
