Vercingetorix had a record-breaking 23 stakes winners of 33 races last season and could well be on his way to breaking that record considering he has already had nine stakes winners of ten races this season after five months and five days and he has no fewer than 16 runners representing him in the six Graded races at the big L’Ormarins King’s Plate meeting on Saturday.

Many of his runners are fancied too.

Double Grand Slam was the first Vercingetorix to win the Cartier Paddock Stakes and will be out to retain her crown.

Vercingetorix gelding Rascallion has won the Premier Trophy twice.

Vercingetorix is yet to have a winner of either the King’s Plate or the Cape Flying Championship.

He has not had a winner of the Sceptre Stakes or the Chairman’s Cup either.
