On a Turffontein Saturday afternoon dominated by top-rated horses, Justin Snaith flexed his equine muscle as stablemates See It Again and Okavango dominated the R2 million HKJC World Pool Gr1 Premier’s Champions Challenge.

National log-leader Craig Zackey proved something of a super-sub for his senior colleague Andrew Fortune who was sidelined in a nasty twist to the greatest comeback seen in our racing in the modern era.

After booting the magnificent Double Grand Slam home for Snaith in the TAB Gr1 Empress Club Stakes earlier on the day, Zackey again rode a confident Andrew Fortune-mentored race on the WSB Cape Town Met winner See It Again (5-4), who travelled up from Summerveld and crowned his fourth Grade 1 victory in style, downing a persistent stablemate Okavango  (9-4) by a comfortable 0,60 lengths in a time of 124,34 secs for the 2000m.

“He’s got a great action. He was still unwinding at the line,” said a delighted Zackey, who added to his career Gr1 haul and added a new dimension to his bow by doing duty for the champion team.

“Andrew Fortune said ride it like any other race. Relax. You’ve got the horse. How right he was!” he added.

A R125 000 Cape Premier Yearling Sale purchase, See It Again was bred by Drakenstein Stud and is a son of Twice Over (Observatory) out of the Visionaire mare Supreme Vision .

As noted, this was his fourth Grade 1 success and he took his tally to 9 wins with 15 places from 31 starts for stakes of a remarkable R10 197 625!
