The smart Ivy League’s win in Tuesday’s last clinched a double on the day for all of the Barend Botes/Yolandi Vosloo yard, jockey S’Manga Khumalo, sire What A Winter and breeders Ridgemont. (JC Photos).
Bridget Stidolph and the Barend Botes/Yolandi Vosloo yard both had doubles at the Vaal straight course meeting on Tuesday, while the small yards of Heather Adamson and Heinrich van der Westhuizen also had winners. S’Manga Khumalo rode a double and both wins were on promising two-year-olds, the Corne Spies-trained gelding Wyzeact, an Act Of War full-brother to Bartholdi and half-brother to Bohica, and the Barend Botes/Yolandi Vosloo-trained Ivy League, a progressive What A Winter filly who registered her third win in six wins and did it impressively.
Stidolph goes to seven wins for the season achieved at a strike rate of 8.97%.
Botes/Vosloo go to 26 wins at 8.90%.
Khumalo goes to 178 wins at 16.12%.
