The first three home in the Listed East Cape Derby at Fairview today were all fillies and the second favourite, the Alan Greeff-trained Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein-bred Master Of My Fate filly Joy And Peace (pictured above), made it three successive wins. She was ridden by Kendall Minnie and beat home stablemate Woman’s World with Public Benefit next best. The Greeff-trained favourite Fairy Knight did not stay the trip and was a well beaten nine length fourth, with Waz Wouter next best. Sharon Kotzen had a treble at Fairview today, two of them ridden by Luyolo Mxothwa, and there were doubles also for all of Chase Maujean, Alan Greeff and Gavin Smith.
Kotzen has had 30 wins this season and has achieved that at a strike rate of 8.72%.
Greeff has had 107 wins at 15.92%.
Smith has had 104 wins at 11.75%.
Mxothwa has had 69 wins at 10.13%.
Maujean has had 53 wins at 6%.
