An interesting registration on this week’s 28 August 2026 NHA Calendar is Gr1-winning jockey Sean Cormack who returns to South Africa after eleven years in Australia.
Cormack had a fine season in Australia in the 2025/2026 season, with exactly 100 wins at a 17.39% strike rate.
His statistics under the columns 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, stakes earnings, strike rate and number of starts are shown below:

The 55 year old Cormack was associated with the Dennis Drier yard for many years and is linked to top horses of the ilk of Beach Beauty, Legally Blonde, Captain Of All and Master Of My Fate, amongst others.
It is believed that he will be returning to South Africa for family reasons and has been registered in the Cape.
