Cape on-course presenter Grant Knowles has been a model of consistency in the Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge Racing Stars competition and recorded his second daily win when grabbing the R500 cash prize for topping the Day 28 leaderboard at Fairview on Friday.

Knowles has been one of the competition’s standout performers and is also a past winner of the Weekly prize by points (R2500) and by number of winners (R500).

When quizzed by the Sporting Post as to how he manages to stay on a consistently true line as he does, Knowles admitted that form study was part of his night-time routine.

“The form books are my reading matter and I enjoy trying to unravel the puzzle every day. This competition has been excellent in terms of the camaraderie between the competitors, but it’s also great to be measured for the ability to find the winners. At this stage it’s set for a helluva finish with two big days to go – I reckon anybody can win the Week 4 prize at this stage,” Knowles mused.

Weighted To Win’s Darryl Maree heads the weekly log with two tough days to go, ahead of Craig Peters and MJ Byleveld.

The three-time Daily winner Charl Pretorius is poised for a big effort in fourth, while young gun Devon Pretorius is in fifth, with Grant Knowles under 21 points off the leader in sixth .
