Pendenra Stud’s Judy Davies is a woman with an impressive resume in the thoroughbred industry. After working for the Woodditton Stud, Judy became the assistant to Darley’s pedigree consultant, before going on to become the Pedigree Database Manager. Judy was associated with Darley for 29 years!
During her time at Darley, Judy got to know many of the numerous star performers and stallions on their impressive lineup, with her favorites including In The Wings, Polish Precedent and the legendary Dubawi. Pendenra Stud will be offering five quality yearlings at this year’s Premier Yearling Sale, and Judy is sure they will go well!

Lot 31: Black Amber c Jet Dark – Maria Theresa
From the first crop of multiple Equus Champion Jet Dark, this colt is a half-brother to five winners notably Listed Taboline.co.za Irridescence Stakes/Listed World Sports Betting Stormsvlei Stakes winner Maria Querol and to recent Gr 3 World Sports Betting Summer Fling Stakes third Queen Regent. Youngest of the draft. Very attractive, athletic colt with a great attitude. It should grow into a big, very handsome boy.
Lot 81: Mistress Mine f Master Archie – Secret Plan
Mistress Mine hails from the first crop of Rafeef’s Gr 1 Computaform Sprint winning son, with this filly out of a winning daughter of Gr 3 SA Fillies Nursery winner Secret To Success.
Tall, elegant filly and a very good advert for Master Archie. Classic type.
Lot 36: Unnamed f What A Winter – Mile High
By the sire of such high-class fillies as Clouds Unfold and Humdinger, this filly is out of a daughter of Fastnet Rock from the family of outstanding siblings Barathea and Gossamer.
Attractive, tall and rangy filly with a wonderful walk.
Lot 164: Unnamed c Malmoos – Beautiful Shay
By Captain Al’s Triple Crown winning son, this colt is out of a four-time winning full-sister to Gr3 Cape Racing Victress Stakes runner up Heart Stwings. Imposing, solid colt. His 2yo half sister, Platinum Shay, ran a promising 3rd on debut at the Vaal.
Lot 226: Spiced Ginger f Real Gone Kid – Felina
By a promising son of Snitzel, this filly, who hails from the same family as the likes of Dubai Millennium and Fort Wood, is a half-sister to Romeo’s Magic, a nine time winner who has earned more than R730 000 in stakes. Filly who is powerful as well as pretty. Looks to come early and a sprinter type.
