Cape Racing Sales Breeze Up & Unbroken 2yo Sale
Jan Mantel’s Millstream Farm sends a Quasillo (GER) filly to the Breeze Up segment of the Sale and an unbroken Futura colt to CRS’s auction on 27 October at Hollywoodbets Durbanville.
The filly, stabled in B27, is named Lady Blunt and will enter the ring as Lot 36. The first dam, Red Ginger, won five times between 1400 and 1700m, and the second dam, Flaming Corn (by Elliodor) won the Gr3 Final Fling Stakes and placed in the Gr2 Majorca Stakes. All five of her foals are winners – 8x winners, Storm Crossing being the best of them.
Quasillo is the sire of 26 runners in South Africa and amongst the 11 winners are Gr2 Golden Slipper scorer, Ameena and the very talented on his day, Quasiforsure.
Lot 121 is the bay Futura (by Dynasty) colt out of Captain’s Flo, a Captain of All mare. This is her first foal. Futura is shaping up as an influence for stamina though his finest racetrack achievement was winning the Gr1 Queen’s Plate over 1600m. He has sired 117 runners for 92 winners, with 17 SW’s. The colt can be inspected in Stable C20.
