Shot Of Courage (Willow Magic), owned by Chad Zoghby, gave Timothy Pretorius and Kobeli Lihaba their first respective wins as trainer and apprentice and on Monday he gave them their second respective wins. (Candiese Lenferna Photography).     

 

Chase Maujean kept up his good recent run with a double and national champion elect Keagan de Melo also scored a double on the Hollywoodbets Greyville poly on Monday.

Maujean made it two wins and a third in three rides for Louis Goosen over the Sunday and Monday KZN meetings when scoring on eyecatching first-timer Sbrigati (Ideal World).

He later rode a winner for Garth Puller which saw the latter go four clear of Gareth van Zyl in the intriguing race for the KZN Trainers championship.  

Maujean is now on 38 wins for the season scored at a strike rate of 5.31%.

De Melo goes to 274 wins at 19.32% and quelled a recent threatening move by Richard Fourie as he went 22 wins clear.
