Picture: Royal Aussie is eligible for both the R600,000 Ready To Run Stakes and the R7.5 million WSB Gold Rush and has the ability to do a big Sales race double.(Wayne Marks).

The Stuart Pettigrew-trained log-topper Captain Peg is among 14 horses still standing their ground for the Ready To Run Stakes, to be run over 1400m at Kenilworth on Octobetr 30.

A fine field will line up as the top four on the log, Captain Peg (Jay Peg), Piroshka (Quasillo), Royal Aussie (Royal Mo) and Street Outlaw (Master Of My Fate) are all entered.

There are others who have shown promise like twice winner from KZN Big Slick (Canford Cliffs) and local horse Seeking The One (What A Winter), both of whom would have needed their last runs.

There are also improving sorts like Tothemoonandback (Twice Over), Ensuing (William Longsword) and Master Josh (Pomodoro).

Relatively unexposed entries like Flying First (Trippi), Heart Stealer (Time Thief) and Captainofthegreen (Gimmethegreenlight) can still improve.

Colloidal Gold (Goild Standard) can improve on his last start.

Soft Touch (Canford Cliffs) is one of three fillies entered, together with Captain Peg and Flying First, and will need to improve on her form to date.
