Turf Talk-sponsored jockey Chad Little landed his first Gr 1 win when bringing home the fancied Glen Kotzen-trained Legislate gelding Good For You in the Gold Medallion over 1200 at the Hollywodbets Scottsville Festival Of Speed meeting.
He had the Oldlands Stud-bred bay, who is owned by Messrs Deven Govender, R P Macnab, S Poriazis, Sivan Ramsamy & S L Russo, in the lead from the off and crucially managed to straighten him when he began hanging outward late.
He went off at 4/1 and held on by 0,30 lengths from 7/1 chance Charming Cheetah with 20/1 chance Intensity in third while the fancied pair Military Command and Zalatoris were next best respectively and the latter was beaten just 1,35 lengths.
Earlier The Alan Greeff-trained Direct Hit put herself in line for the Equus Champion Two-year-old filly by remaining unbeaten when winning the Gr 1 Allan Robertson Championship over 1200m under Richard Fourie.
The Ridgemont-bred Canford Cliffs filly is owned by Ridgemont and Devin Heffer.
Sean Tarry won the Gr 1 SA Fillies Sprint for the ninth time when the Vercingetorix filly Mia Moo got up by a whisker under Callan Murray from the Duncan Howells-trained Asiye Phambili and the Tarry-trained Mrs Browning in a thrilling three-way photo.
The Klawervlei Stud-bred filly is owned by  Itssa It & Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd & World Sports Betting (Nom: Mr W Tannous) and gave Tarry a 21st Festival Of Speed Gr 1 win and Vercingetorix a 12th individual Gr 1 winner.
The Gr 2 Golden Horse Sprint over 1200m saw an easy win for the Candice Bass-Robinson-trained Ian Longmore homebred Tenango, who is part-owned by Mark Bass.
Andrew Fortune was aboard and it completed a fine day for Canford Cliffs, whose first Gr 1 winner was followed closely by a race which only lost its Gr 1 status this year.
