Greg Cheyne, now based in the UK, is in South Africa for a week and was given six rides by his old East Cape guv’nor Alan Greeff for today’s Fairview poly meeting.
He was successful on the favourite in the third race, the Bosworth Farm Stud-bred Skit Skizzle filly Gideon’s Daughter.
He then made it a double in the fifth race on the Drakenstein Stud-bred Twice Over mare Official Secret.
Cheyne has had limited opportunities in the U.K. but has had seven winners from 50 rides for a strike rate of 14%.
Among his winners was the Dylan Cunha-trained Silver Sword whom he rode to victory in a big Heritage Handicap at the York Ebor meetinbg in which the first prize was £51,540 (R1,217,890).
