1 13H00 – Property Decoded Maiden Juvenile Plate

RED IMPACT defied a market drift when 3rd on debut and confirmed that promise when 2nd next time out over the same track and trip, so could well go one better if making further improvement. CHARLIE MALONE bounced back to form when reverting to this distance after a rest and gelding, and ought to be competitive with further progress expected. FORT APACHE has run with promise in two starts over 1200m and shown on both occasions, suggesting he could have more to offer over this shorter trip. The betting should provide a guide to the chances of the newcomers – follow the market moves.

Top Tip: FORT APACHE (5)
Watch out for: CHARLIE MALONE (2)

2 13H35 – Elcarbo Industrial Suppliers Maiden Juvenile Plate
Improving FUTURE TURN took a big step forward racing around the turn for the first time when 2nd over 1600m after a break. He ought to have tightened up since and should have more to offer with improved fitness on his side. ROYAL PORT LOUIS found only one better in open company over 1400m last time out and could fight out the finish with further improvement. NEVADA KING and CANFORD LIGHTS should make their presence felt if building on improved last-start displays. Watch the betting on well-bred newcomer IMPETUOUS.

Top Tip: FUTURE TURN (2)
Watch out for: ROYAL PORT LOUIS (6)

3 14H10 – Cape West Electrical Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies)
TEARDROP has improved over this trip since returning from a break and can open her account with further progress likely in her peak outing. Stablemate HAPPY CHANCE was a pleasing debut 4th over a shorter trip and should improve to play a role over this trip with a run under her belt. On that form, TRIP TO BARBERTON has a bit to find but is another who ought to improve going this distance. LADY OF GOLD took a big step forward in her second start after a modest debut and could pose a threat to the selection if making the same degree of improvement now trying further. LUCY THE PINK has claims too.

Top Tip: LUCY THE PINK (6)
Watch out for: LADY OF GOLD (5)

4 14H45 – Emirates Juvenile Plate
Good race. STREET OUTLAW landed a gamble on debut beating a subsequent multiple-graded winner. He hasn’t been seen since but ought to have strengthened and improved since, so must be respected. DAVE THE KING and ICONIC DESTINATION are first-start scorers open to any amount of improvement too, so best kept safe. DANCE VARIETY improved to win his second start and will have more to offer, so should make his presence felt. Debut winner MICHAEL FARADAY drops in class after contesting a feature last time and isn’t without a chance. Newcomers QUERARI’S DREAM and SJAMBOK are also worth noting. Tricky!

Top Tip: STREET OUTLAW (6)
Watch out for: DANCE VARIETY (1)

5 15H20 – Eurolux Middle Stakes
Tricky. PACK LEADER made a pleasing comeback from a rest and relocation back to the Cape under a big weight over a shorter trip last time and ought to have tightened up since, so should go well on favourable conditions. Consistent TOUT A FAIT (1kg worse off) finished 1.55 lengths ahead of that rival but there should be little between the pair on these revised weight terms. ADIOS AMIGOS ought to turn the tables on his last-start conqueror. He is 2,5kg better off for a 0.75-length beating. SILENT WAR and fellow 3yo SECRET OASIS arrive in good form and are likely to make their presence felt too.

Top Tip: ADIOS AMIGOS (2)
Watch out for: SILENT WAR (7)

6 15H50 – Econorisk Final Fling Stakes (Grade 3) (F & M)
Progressive 3yo YOUNG LOVE has a bit to find on these terms against older rivals but has the most scope for improvement of these runners and may have things her own way under bottom weight. Stablemate SO FLAWLESS was returning from a rest when getting the better of VERONICA MARS and RAIN IN NEWMARKET and, despite the weight turnaround, could confirm her superiority over those rivals with improved fitness on her side. PRETTY BETTY, MUSICAL GLITCH and DO ANGELS CRY seldom run bad races and could get into the mix. WHATSINADREAM has earning potential too.

Top Tip: SO FLAWLESS (4)
Watch out for: YOUNG LOVE (10)

7 16H25 – Western Province Nomads Champagne Stakes (Grade 3) (F & M)
KITTY CAT CHAT blows hot and cold. She fluffed her lines in a course-and-distance feature last time out but had legitimate excuses so could be worth another chance. Stablemates MAJOR ATTRACTION and PHIL’S DANCER finished ahead of that rival and should go well again in their peak outings. WALK OF FAME has a bit to find on that form and appears held at the weights but could take home a cheque. Lightly raced FUSILLADE is versatile but only wins over this trip and could have more to offer with blinkers now fitted. SONIC BURST, DAD’S CATCH and Eastern Cape raider FLY MY FLAG have earning potential.

Top Tip: PHIL’S DANCER (2)
Watch out for: MAJOR ATTRACTION (3)

8 17H00 – Lass & Scholtz Maiden Plate
KING MO made a pleasing debut over track and trip then wasn’t disgraced over 1200m next time out. A subsequent nine-week break and return to this distance should stand him in good stead. BULLITT also made an encouraging debut over this trip and confirmed that promise against older rivals last time out – ought to go well again. NOT IN DOUBT fluffed his lines when last seen but should make his presence felt if the fitting of blinkers can eke out some improvement and return him to his prior form. Newcomer MAX THE OTTER could pose a threat, especially if the market speaks in his favour – watch betting.

Top Tip: MAX THE OTTER (6)

Watch out for: BULLITT (3)

Picture: The Justin Snaith-trained Major Attraction (Vercingetorix), being led in here by Etienne Braun (right) and Wayne Mealing and Colleen Clarke, is the favourite for tomorrow’s Grade 3 Western Province Nomads Champagne Stakes over 1200m (Chase Liebenberg).
