Jeffery Syster took a terrible fall at the Vaal Classic track meeting today when first-timer Alabama Storm appeared to clip heels before pecking on to her nose, flinging the jockey to the ground.
Syster was stretchered off the course and taken to hospital.
The diagnosis came as something of a relief to the racing fraternity owing to the visual severity of the incident.
