The Peter Muscutt-trained Narrow Creek Stud-bred Equus Champion Sprinter Isivunguvungu was named by former Springbok winger Odwa Ndungane and the name means “storm”.
So it was somewhat Ironic when the gelding’s niece was born this week out in the sunshine at Narrow Creek.

Querari mare Bat Of Out Of Hell is a half-sister to Isivunguvungu and gave birth to the above Rafeef filly in the paddock on September 18.
Isivunguvungu’s dam Miss Tweedy is by Tiger Ridge and won three times from 1400m to 1600m.
She in fact won on debut over 1400m, so would not have been viewed as the same out and out sprinting type Isivunguvungu is.
So Isivunguvungu obviously gets his sprinting speed chiefly from his Equus Champion sprinter sire What A Winter.
Bat Out Of Hell won two races over 1200m.
Rafeef won the same Gr 1 Jonsson Workwear Computaform Sprint that Isivunguvungu won, so that augurs well for this filly foal.
