BLACK CHERRY stayed on promisingly in a sprint on his introduction and is another likely to improve going this distance. TOP ME UP HOLLY doesn’t have the benefit of an apprentice to take weight off her back but could make her presence felt with improved fitness on her side. MEET AT THE GEORGE won well racing fresh after a break and is capable of following up under a 3-point penalty. MACARA remains dangerous.

He hasn’t been seen since, so his fitness must be taken on trust, but could be worth following until beaten. MARDI GRAS has the benefit of race fitness on his side and a proven record at this level, so is likely to pose a threat. PRINCE OF TARANTO and PARTY TIME are both versatile and capable of making their presence felt over this trip. Hard-knockers GOODTIME GUY and MR FITZ won’t be far off the mark and could pick up the pieces if the principals fluff their lines.

FAMILY FAVOURITE is holding form and not without a chance against male rivals. GREY OCEAN, SIR POM and WE ALL CHOMIES seldom finish far off the action, so can’t be discounted – place chances. QUEST FOR THE BEST is unexposed on the turf but capable of posing a threat if transferring his Poly form to this surface. HAPPY WANDERER and SENOR GARCIA have claims too.
