R1 (5) Nikes Ray Of Light is holding consistent recent form and will be a strong contender in this field respectfully. (8) Thread Of Life ran extremely well in the last start and will be a huge danger to the top selection. (2) Coral Creek comes from a yard that generally have their unraced runners ready so must be respected if he does receive betting support as this isn’t the strongest field respectfully. R2 (7) Karoo Bokkie could very well win this contest if not too green based on the trainer comment. The exposed form of this race has little depth respectfully so that brings the unraced runner right into the calculations. (1) Best Intentions will have a huge winning chance however has had many tries, what you see is what you get. (2) Bella Attrice is another that has had many chances but won’t be far, she is not without a winning chance. R3 (2) Hat Hot Hat ran well enough in the last start and will have a massive chance especially with the fact that Richard Fourie has been booked for ride. (1) Igugulethu has been fancied recently according to the betting and will get it right soon, he will have a huge chance in this field. (4) Colonel Green can get much closer for the placings. R4 (4) Coastal Path is overdue for that next career win, his last run was very good and he must be respected. (2) William The First is a very interesting runner, he was fancied in the betting market and ran a good enough race to suggest he isn’t far from that second career win. (3) Pashtunwali won well in the last start and if repeating that performance will make his presence felt. (1) Lt Alexander has been consistent in recent runs and another good run is expected. R5 (4) Lady Zultanite has been holding solid form and will be a massive contender for top honours. She won a very gutsy race in the last start and is expected to go extremely close to winning. (2) State Of Mind has been consistent, she is very capable on his day and will make her presence felt. (1) Outer Dimension is capable of filling in the placings with Richard Fourie aboard, her form isn’t the easiest to assess. (3) Jam Jam is very capable on best form so can be included in larger perms. ( Devonne Govender 4-2-1-3)
R6 (1) Can’T Say No is very capable of winning this contest despite the fact she will have to carry the weight however she does jump from the best draw. Her overall form is good and she does have the ability to smash the opposition. (3) Turnthebeataround is very capable on her day, she comes right into this contest with the apprentice taking the 4kgs off her back so will have a lively chance. (4) Arabian Red’s last run is best ignored, something seemed to have gone wrong into the closing stages and was not persevered with, he can bounce back. R7 (1) Paris Lass gets the apprentice up claiming 4kgs which makes her the horse to beat. Her form speaks for itself and she could make them run here. (10) Tuscan Gold could be the main danger respectfully, he hasn’t been far in recent starts and has a light mass to carry. (4) Evies First can produce a big finish so could fill in the placings. (3) Slim Jannie can make the frame if bringing his ‘A’ game. Beyond the top four selections a case can be made for many runners here so a decision has to be made in terms of taking a chance and going light or including many runners in exotics. R8 Very open race. (12) Dawn Of Gold is very capable on his day and is the narrow first selection. He will have the benefit of the claimer and should make a bold showing. (13) Colorama has been running well and will make her presence felt. (3) Kilmonivaig is holding top form but has the tough draw to negotiate. (5) Ella’s Delight is a serious contender for top honours and must be included in everything. (9) Bytheliteofthemoon is another who is very capable of winning. ( Devonne Govender 12-13-3-5-9)
