When classy two-year-old Gostam won Sunday’s G3 WETTSTAR. de -Preis Des Winterfavoriten at Cologne, he ensured a 20th German breeders’ championship for Gestut Fahrhof. Remarkably, the Jacobs’ farm has taken that title 20 times during the past 50 years.
Sunday’s race also marked the third year in a row that Fahrhof had produced the champion two-year-old elect in Germany, with Gostam preceded by Geography (2023) and Lifetimes.
A son of Saxon Warrior, Gostam is unbeaten in three starts, with the colthaving previously triumphed in the G3 152nd Renate und Albrecht Woeste -Zukunfts-Rennen.
Sent off a 2-5 favourite for Sunday’s contest, Gostam turned the race into a one horse race, with the colt drawing off to win by five lengths.
His dam, the Oasis Dream mare Goiania, is a stakes winning full-sister to the South African based mare Granja.
