Anton Shepherd’s Beaumont Stud averaged over R213,000 apiece for three foals at last
year’s Cape Racing Sales Ready To Run and Two-Year-Old Unbroken Sale, and with three more quality lots, he’ll be looking for similarly good results at this year’s renewal, scheduled for Hollywoodbets Durbanville on 22 October.
Pre-trained by Bass Racing, here are some briefs on this year’s Beaumont Stud trio:
Lot 17 Marine Merchant (b c Captain Of All – In Limine) (Pictured above headline)
“He is a half-brother to the very promising and highly rated Red Palace (see next article in the newsletter) and is developing into a smashing colt. He has a magnificent action with scope and class and is a must for the shortlist!”
Lot 46 Johnny Drama (ch c What A Winter – Selkie) (Pictured below)
“He’s a very attractive and handsome colt from the super Western Winter/Caesour cross.
He stems from one of South Africa’s best families in Irridecence and Perfect Promise, and his dam has produced many winners.
Lot 65 Doja Cat (ch f The United States – Welsh Kitten) (Pictured below)
“Doja Cat is a very athletic filly from the United States from the great family of Marinaresco
and Marina. She shows a lot, looks very racy and will come to hand early.”
