Anthony Andrews did his homework before using outstanding pace judgement to win easily on the Brett Crawford-trained The Futurist
Anthony Andrews was a landslide winner of the Emperor’s Palace Ride Of The Month competition for May for his ride on The Futurist in the Gr 3 Pocket Power Stakes over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, which the Futura gelding won by 9,25 lengths.
The first correct voter to be drawn out of the hat in the draw for the prize was Janet Carolin
She wins:

Andrews had never ridden The Futurist before but knew from watching him and speaking to other jockeys that this horse liked to stretch out in front and did not like to be reined in as that just caused him to increase his speed. “You just have to trust his speed,” said Andrews after the race. The other riders were severely criticised in this race for allowing The Futurist to get away, but Andrews rode the horse to perfection and the fractions he went at were spot on. He romped in by 9,25 lengths at 33/1 odds.
