The Mike Azzie-trained Bartholdi will be attempting to become the third indivual Grade 1 winner from Act Of War’s first crop when he runs in the Grade 1 Cape Flying Championship on WSB Met day (JC Photos).
Act Of War appears to have gone a bit off the boil after super successful results for his first crop, which included the champion Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara heroine War Of Athena, another Grade 1 winner in Battle Force, as well as Grade 1 runner up Bartholdi, among others.
However, KZN Breeders expected this downturn as he received fewer mares in his second season and for one or two seasons thereafter.
However, he has received plenty of mares in his last two seasons, so should bounce back.
