Athandiwe Mgudlwa rode a treble for Alyson Wright on the Hollywoodbets Greyville poly today and that saw the latter reach a new personal best of 51 wins in a season, bettering last season’s mark of 50.
It also saw her open up a three win lead in the KZN Trainers Championship.
However, former champion Gareth van Zyl will be a tough nut to crack as he proved today by sending out a double.
Jockey Sean Veale also scored a double on the day.
Wright’s 51 wins in the season have all been in KZN and she has done it at a strike rate of 12.53%.
Van Zyl has had 48 wins in KZN but he has had 57 wins overall and has done it at a strike rate of 12.95%.
Mgudlwa is on 48 wins for the season at 7.89%.
Veale is on 60 wins at 11.79%.
