A quick treble last Friday and single wins on the Thursday before that as well as on Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday meant Warren Kennedy could still breath easily after having a blank at Riccarton Park today.
Kennedy is now on 132 wins for the season, nine clear of reigning champion Michael McNab.
McNab will be lamenting his bad luck in having a bad fall on June 15 just two days after he had drawn level with the long-time leader Kennedy.
They were both locked together on 119 wins apiece at the time.
McNab was sidelined for a long time but has not given up and in his second comeback, after an aborted first comeback, he rode a double on Saturday and has had two winners since.
However, it looks like Warren will soon be adding a New Zealand championship to the two championships he has won in South Africa.
