Lot 113, this What A Winter mare is a half-sister to Master Archie.

Winterbach Stud has consigned five broodmares and a weanling to the 2023 Cape Racing Winter Mixed Sale on Friday, 16 June, at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.

Known for its quality, the Winterbach stock is always worth looking at and Hendrik Winterbachmcommented: “We are moving on a few mares we’ve had some success with. That’s the way it is, it is time for other breeders to have a try with them.”

Winterbach singled out his Lots 113 and 120.

Lot 113 Princess Blitz, chestnut mare
“She is by What A Winter out of La Volta, by VAR, and hence a half-sister to Master Archie, and is herself
in foal to Rafeef, a top mating. Her first foal by Potala Palace sold well, her second is the weanling we have on sale at this auction. Princess Blitz is a lovely young mare being sold to dissolve a partnership.” CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE PEDIGREE IN DETAIL

Lot 120 Saints Alive, bay mare
“She is a nice, big, stakes-placed mare by Elusive Fort. Her first two foals are both unraced by One World and they are very nice. She is in foal to Talk Of The Town and another beautiful foal is expected. I believe she’ll throw a number of good other foals in future.” CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE PEDIGREE IN DETAIL

The weanling, he noted, is Lot 166, and she’s unnamed
“She is a nice-sized foal by Master Of My Fate from La Volta, and a very good extended family.” CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE PEDIGREE IN DETAIL
