Amazing Aerial Pictures Taken By John Lewis show the natural beauty of the famous Kimberley-based Mauritzfontein Stud farm.

Reigning National Champion Breeders Klawervlei Stud had a good opening meeting of the Champions Season on Saturday when landing a one-two with Silver Operator (Silvano) and Russian Rock (Pomodoro) in the Grade 2 IOS Drill Hall Stakes and they had another winner earlier with Expeditioner (Trippi).

That would have enabled them to get a bit closer to Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein Stud on the national log.

Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein-bred progeny had accumulated R18,946,013 in stakes by the close of play yesterday and Klawervlei were next best on R16,855,725.

Klawervlei did have one winner today so their tally would have increased slightly.

Drakenstein Stud are in third place on R12,911,225.

Top photographer John Lewis took some fantastic aerial photographs of Mauritzfontein Stud the other day and it shows the famous Kimberley-based farm’s natural beauty (see main picture and below)
