LUCKY LAD won both starts in workmanlike fashion but shows heart. PURE PREDATOR and FIRE ‘N FLAMES renew rivalry and either could get into the action. GUY GIBSON was backed when winning on debut beating JERUSALEMA RAIN (won subsequently) – both are no slouches.

The battle for minor money is tricky but SHEELA gets the nod, closely followed by KZN raider ISIVUNGUVUNGU, ROLLWITHTHEPUNCHES, BIG BURN and GOBSMACKED.

ARAGOSTA could feature if in the mood while stablemate GOLDEN DUCAT is capable of a lot better. Others could place.

Of the older runners, TERRA TIME could turn it around with BUREAU DES LEGENDE while LIGHT OF THE MOON is looking for Trifecta money.

Only eight runners do battle in the WSB Gold Bowl (Grade 3) over 3200m and SHANGANI stands out. He is a top stayer but gives away 10kg to 12kg to the remaining runners which is a lot over this marathon distance. Biggest threats should come from ARUMUGAM and APACHE FIGHTER but TABEBUIA, FUTURE PEARL, TOP SAIL and FLYING FIRST CLASS could get into the mix.
