Imvula (Aqlaam), a half-sister to Durban July winner Dancer’s Daughter, is turning out to be a valuable broodmare for Drakenstein Stud.
She has produced the champion Rain In Holland as well as stakes-placed Rain In Newmarket and now the Justin Snaith-trained Drakenstein homebred ItsRainingWilliam looks to have plenty of promise.
The William Longsword two-year-old colt had finished placed in his first three starts in some well contested Maiden Juvenile Plates.
Today he faced older maidens and started odds-on favourite.
He showed good pace to take the lead and displayed a lovely action.
He produced a superb kick when it counted to draw away and win easing up by three lengths under Richard Fourie.
Considering his half-sister by Duke Of Marmalade landed the Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara he should go further so has exciting potential.
