Final Supplementary entries for the World Sports Betting Cape Met closed this morning and those nominated have now been weighted.

Justin Snaith’s Warrior is scratched following his poor effort in the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate, while Sovereign Spirit will join him on the sidelines as he bled (again) in the Glorious Goodwood Premier Trophy and is now suspended for 120 days.

Interestingly horse-of-the-year Rainbow Bridge’s rating has been dropped from 134 to 130 after his third in Saturday’s showpiece. 

That leaves him equal top rated with Jet Dark, who won so impressively, and will also take his place here.  The Trippi colt will attempt to be the first to complete the G1 double since Futura in 2015. 

But he will need to overcome a quirk in his form lines. He has won every odd numbered start, and been beaten at every even numbered one. 

And this is outing number 12!

The only jockey to have publicly shown his hand at this point is Warren Kennedy, who will partner Second Base for Johan Janse van Vuuren.
