Legend Of Arthur looks to be favouring the Gr 2 Jonsson Workwear Dingaans over the Gr 1 Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas (Picture: JC Photos)
The Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas initially had 21 entries and still does, but this is only after one horse was scratched and another was supplemented.
The first entry stage was only yesterday (Monday), so it was unusual to see a horse supplemented a day later, the Brett Crawford-trained Captain West.
This Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud-bred One World colt is obviously well regarded as he was backed in from 10/1 to 4/1 for the Gr 3 Cape Classic at the beginning of the month.
He finished only 1,85 lengths back in fifth, which saw him raised from a 92 merit rating to 103.
He had won his maiden at the third time of asking by 4,75 lengths over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville and has had five starts to date.
He is one of the six runners lining up in the Gr 2 Punters Cup over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday and has drawn pole position.
Meanwhile, the Sean Tarry-trained Lancaster Bomber colt Legend Of Arthur looks to be favouring the Gr 2 Jonsson Workwear Dingaans at the expense of the Cape Guineas as he has been scratched from the latter whereas Richard Fourie has been declared to ride him in the Dingaans.
