Champion breeders Klawervlei Stud do not leave their matings to chance and although thoroughbred breeding is not an exact science the four yearlings they have on the forthcoming BSA Cape Yearling Sale all have carefully planned pedigrees.

 

Lot 47 is a filly by the Dubawi sire Erupt out of a six times-placed mare who is by the Sadler’s Wells-line sire Dynasty.

Dubawi over Sadlers Wells has produced 93 stakes winners at 9.94% to runners and the cross has produced 16 Group 1 winners at 1,73% to runners.

 

Lot 103 is by Global View out of a four time-winning Listed runner-up by Captain Al and this mare has already produced the twice-Listed runner-up Barzalona by Pomodoro. 

Captain Al as a broodmare sire has produced 34 stakes winners at 7.05% to runners and 7 Group 1 winners at 1.45% to runners.

 

Lot 148 is a filly by Danehill sire Oratorio out of the Grade 3-winning Fort Wood mare Fortissima.

Danehill over Sadler’s Wells has produced 577 stakes winners at 5% to runners and 88 Group 1 winners at 0,75% to runners.

 

Lot 156 is a colt by Trippi out of a Spectrum half-sister to Pomodoro.

Trippi has produced 66 stakes winners at 9,61% to runners and 9 Group 1 winners at 1,42% to runners.
