RACE 1: 9 MARADIVA 8 GUY FOX 10 MACCARTNEY 5 NDAKA
Preview: Visiting MARADIVA (9) has been a beaten favourite in her last two at the Vaal for her new stable. She goes well this trip and should make another bold bid. GUY FOX (8) is battling to win his maiden but has been close-up in his last four. The blinkers go on and he can be apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa’s first winner. MCCARTNEY (10) has improved with each outing and has a difficult draw last run. She should make further improvement. NDAKA (5) shows pace and has not been far back in all his starts.

RACE 2: 1 FEARLESS KITTY 9 TEMPLEHOFF 5 SNOW TUNE 8 ROYAL OASIS
Preview: FEARLESS KITTY (1) showed up nicely first run back after a beak. She appears to have some scope and looks a strong candidate for the winner’s circle. TEMPLEHOFF (9) has improved in blinkers and has done well on the turf. He looks a danger. SNOW TUNE (5) goes well for this apprentice and should feature prominently. ROYAL OASIS (8) has been knocking at the door and is not out of it. (Andrew Harrison: 1-9-5-8).
RACE 3: 8 PARK AND FLY 5 SIEGE OF ORLEANS 3 AMBLE INN 4 EDGE OF WINTER
Preview: PARK AND FLY (8) takes on males but goes well this trip and has a handy weight. SIEGE OF ORLEANS (5) is another filly against males but has a light weight with a claiming apprentice up and should be right there. AMBLE INN (3) was not given the best of rides last start. Best recent form has been on this course. EDGE OF WINTER (4) improved again back in blinkers and can do even better this trip. (Andrew Harrison: 8-5-3-4).
RACE 4: 6 VIVID JET 2 STAR ACT 4 MAQUETTE 3 CALULO
Preview: Competitive. VIVID JET (6) couldn’t quite get to STAR ACT (2) when last they met. Now 1kg better off and can turn the tables. Star Act has her second run after a long break and is tenacious. The 1kg swing may not be enough for Vivid Jet. MAQUETTE (4) was two lengths behind Star Act last run but is also better off at the weights. CALULO (3) gets a stronger rider aboard. She was a length back to Star Act last start and can turn the tables. (Andrew Harrison: 6-2-4-3).
RACE 5: 3 VUNDERBAR 4 HAPPY WANDERER 5 FRENCH MASTERPIECE
1 JOSHUA HOTSNAKE
Preview: Tough handicap. VUNDERBAR (3) run up to his best last start when narrowly beaten. Light weight and slightly down in class. HAPPY WANDERER (4) had a difficult draw last run . At his best now. FRENCH MASTERPIECE (5) was a recent maiden winner but is lightly raced and could be better than rated. JOSHUA HOTSNAKE (1) made steady improvement leading to his maiden win and can earn a cheque.
(Andrew Harrison: 3-4-5-1).
RACE 6: 1 MAIDENS PRAYER 7 CONCHITA 8 BELLA SICCOME 2 TO THE MAX
Preview: MAIDENS PRAYER (1) has been up against much stronger at her last two. Handy weight and best of the draw. Looks to be the right race. CONCHITA (7) has been in good form in useful company. Last win this course and has third run after a break. BELLA SICCOME (8) won well against stronger last run. She goes well this trip and comes form a stable very much in form. TO THE MAX (2) was narrowly beaten last start and had a difficult draw at her penultimate start. Can do better here. (Andrew Harrison: 1-7-8-2).
RACE 7: 1 ASTRIX 2 CROWN TOWERS 12 TRISTFUL 6 SPRING FLING
Preview: ASTRIX (1) and CROWN TOWERS (2) look the two most obvious contenders. Asterix has been up against the best in the Highveld and not far off them He has a good draw and is distance suited. Should make a bold bid. So too should Crown Towers. He’s the best weighted runner and was a comfortable winner of last start. On his day he will be hard to beat. TRISTFUL (12) does not have the best of draws but has plenty of time to place. Long overdue. SPRING FLING (6) has come good of late but stepped up in the handicap. Light weight. (Andrew Harrison: 1-2-12-6).
RACE 8: 7 SWEET SYMPHONY 1 KITTEN’S ADVENTURE 6 MVULANZANA 11 OUR EMILY
Preview: Tricky handicap. SWEET SYMPHONY (7) has run two crackers since her debut win. Big weight! KITTEN’S ADVENTURE (1) has run two smart races after her maiden win. Has still taken a rating drop. MVULAZANA (6) ran a cracker first run out of the maidens. Big chance on that effort. OUR EMILY (11) started favourite first run out of the maidens. Back on turf. (Andrew Harrison: 7-1-6, 11)
