YGRITTE looked the likely winner before being caught by another useful looking sort last time. She should be super fit now and can make a winning poly debut jumping from a plum gate. WULFSTON has also finished runner-up in his last two but he has been coming from off the pace and hopefully the sharper 1000m won’t catch him out. He has draw No 1. The trainer comment on stablemate OLVERSTON is quite positive and he could be one to follow. SEATTLEGREENLIGHT met a decent field on his Highveld debut and he may have made big improvement during a three-month break -watch out.

Not a lot of form to go on and the betting market will need to be consulted closer to race time. There are first-timers but LADY CHOCOLAT and BRIGHT STAR have valuable race experience and should have every chance. The former may have gone a bit too fast early on last time and given a chance on poly debut she could give of her best over the longer trip. BRIGHT STAR is bred for further but has drawn well again and could get in the fight for prize money. ENID’S GIRL is better than her last run and has run well on the poly so must be taken seriously.

PETECA was a costly flop racing off strong formlines on his poly debut. He was racing after a rest,(beaten into second) so is entitled to make good improvement. Big chance again. Youngster DUKE OF AFRICA ran on nicely to finish a neck behind PETECA in just his third start. He has scope to beat this field but unfortunately has drawn even wider this time. LIKETHECLAPPERS showed something first-up but has been rested for quite some time. ACTION STATIONS carries a light weight and has shown on the poly. MONSIEUR CHEVELLE has run some decent races on the Highveld but may also need it after a rest.

Wide-open lower division fillies and mares handicap – suggest going wide in all bets. ELUSIVE DREAM won well enough to suggest she has more to come. The longer trip should suit but she a wide draw could make it difficult. Three-year-old DAMOVA has shown good pace on the Highveld and could be enjoy the Polytrack. WEDDING BLISS is knocking hard at the door. She can make amends on her poly debut when finishing an honest second, but along with MODE has drawn very wide. The latter has run well in two of her last three. Stablemate DIAMONDS N DOLLARS looks upset material.

WITH PLEASURE made a fair poly debut when not far off poly specialist GALABIER. He should come on further and has drawn well so should go close. GALABIER just failed in completing a hat-trick of wins and has more to do but should run another cracker from the front. AL BUGATTI won his maiden in style and could challenge for the lead. STRAIGHT UP and PAPA C who have run well in stronger races will enjoy a fast pace and could capitalise from the best of the draws. BIT OF FUN did well with frontrunning tactics upcountry and could be the dark horse. Many with claims.

MR MASTER STARTER has won two on the bounce since relocating. He will be out to maintain his unbeaten record on the poly but there is another with three unbeaten runs on the poly that could unsettle him. PRICELESS RULER looks to have lost his way on the turf but having drawn well back on the synthetic, could find best form. He has a 4kg apprentice claim to boot. TREAD SWIFTLY got into it too late last time but he too is dangerous on the poly and demands the utmost respect. BORN TO PERFORM has dropped in the ratings and could suddenly pop up at decent odds. More with claims.

Great handicap – just about all have some sort of claim. However, STAR ACT has lived up to her name and could be even better on the poly. She has drawn well and could be the one to catch. AUNTY LIZZY impressed with her out-and-out speed last time but has more to do. RIDE THE LIGHTNING could pick them up one by one as she should get a fast pace and could still be under-rated. ANCIENT EPIC pulled off a coup for her connections with an easy win and may be on the up. VARVACIOUS is a lot better than her recent form and needs to be respected. LADY CATHERINE loves flying up late.

Late racing DOUBLE DREAM came from the clouds to win on debut and could be anything. She could do the same on handicap debut. Trainer Dennis Drier has a strong hand with his two – MAIDENS PRAYER and DIAMOND GIRL. The former disappointed last time but has drawn well and can make amends in this. DIAMOND GIRL impressed with powerful finishes and is looking to complete a hat-trick. Both have drawn a lot better than DOUBLE DREAM. THERE SHE GOES is overdue and a 2.5kg apprentice claim could see her seal the deal. SPACE RACE is not one to take lightly either.
