Preview: (1) HAYAT has plenty of speed and was narrowly caught late on debut on the turf.He has a plum draw and now races on poly and looks tough to beat. (8) BIG SLICK also ran a brilliant race on debut and is a massive danger.(4) SILVER DUCAT is never far back and the 4kg claim will assist his chances. (6) ACTION STATIONS is lightly racedS and has two fair efforts to his name and isn’t out it and will make the necessary improvement. (Devonne Govender 1-8-4-6)

Race 2

3 NAZDAROVYA  6 COVERT OPERATOR  2  GAUL RULER  1 SHOT OF COURAGE

Preview: It’s not easy to asses this race. The highveld runner (3) NAZDAROVYA  is the narrow first selection. She has a decent draw and Anton Marcus up which speaks volumes. (6) COVERT OPERATOR is never far back and could be the main danger. (2) GAUL RULER isn’t out of this tricky qualified maiden contest. He is well bred and will make the expected improvement in not the strongest of fields respectfully. (1) SHOT OF COURAGE has the best draw and Dillon knows him well. He has run fairly well here and can win. (Devonne Govender 3-6-2-1)

Race 3

2 WINTER MELODY  3 PICARA  6 DECLARE WAR  1 AMERICAN STYLE

Preview: (2) WINTER MELODY  is back over 1400m with Anton Marcus up again and looks the right one here. (3) PICARA has been consistent but expensive to follow however does have a massive chance. (6) DECLARE WAR is lightly raced and is open to any amount of improvement. (1) AMERICAN STYLE has the best draw and is another who is open to improve. It’s advisable to keep a close eye on them in the parade ring and watch them going down to the start when making your final selections as there are a few who can win this. (Devonne Govender 2-3-6-1)

Race 4

7 PURPLE FLAME  4  GUNSMOKE  8  IDEAL ACT  2  SHAVOUT  1  BEECHAMWOOD BOY

Preview: (7) PURPLE FLAME is holding form well and now goes over 1400 and looks the one to beat. (4) GUNSMOKE ran a cracker in his last start and will be right there. (8) IDEAL ACT is lightly raced like many in this race and has a shout. His form lengths wise isn’t bad at all and has Keagan De Melo up who is in top form as well. (2) SHAVOUT is another who is holding consistent form and looks to have a lively chance. ( 1) BEECHAMWOOD BOY had a good draw compare to his last start and cannot be discounted. Race 5

5  CAPE EAGLE  1  CUPID’S SONG  9  WINTER AIR  6 GIMME A RAINBOW

Preview: (5)  CAPE EAGLE  has solid form and the Mr Molony form line is working out well so he’s the one to beat. (1) CUPID’S SONG has been extremely consistent and has run some crackers over this 1400m trip. (9) WINTER AIR  is rated by his yard, he’s well-bred and lightly raced and looks to be a progressive type with an eye-catching jockey booking in the form of Anton Marcus. (6) GIMME A RAINBOW  gets a slight drop in trip now and is never far back. (Devonne Govender 5-1-9-6)

Race 6

4  STRAIGHT UP  5  CONGO COMPAQ  7  SOUTHERN CAPE  2  MAXIMUS 

Preview: (4) STRAIGHT UP has some solid form and strong form lines to go with that and is the horse to beat. (5) CONGO COMPAQ is another who is holding form well with good form lines and has a massive shout as well. (7) SOUTHERN CAPE is never far back and is consistent so deserves healthy respect. Muzi yeni has a good record with her and she is a lively contender. (2) MAXIMUS has been consistent but just manages to get there which raises the question – does he stay based on his running style? On paper he definitely stays as he has won over 1600m and 1700m however I feel things must go his way and he can never be ignored. (Devonne Govender 4-5-7-2)

Race 7

1 GODDESS OF LIGHT  3 ANCIENT EPIC  6 IRISH BELLE  11  LADY MACBETH 12 PURPLE MOON’S UP

Preview: A bit of a tricky race if you look past (1) GODDESS OF LIGHT, she gets a draw for a change and a top rider aboard and looks a tough nut to crack. She is holding form well and has a top rider aboard who knows her well. (3) ANCIENT EPIC has been extremely consistent and no doubt the 4kg claim will be a huge benefit. (6) IRISH BELLE has been in the frame in her last three efforts and is a must include. (11) LADY MACBETH is in good form and attempts to make it three wins on the bounce however does take on slightly stronger but is capable. (12) PURPLE MOON’S UP does have a wide draw but has an inform rider and consistent form. (Devonne Govender 1-3-6-11-12)

Race 8

3 WE ALL CHOMIES  1 LESLIES PATHTOFAME  10 PACIFIC WINTER  2 GREY OCEAN

Preview: Another tricky race to close of the days racing. (3) WE ALL CHOMIES got there just in time to claim victory in his last start and a similar effort can be expected because there will be plenty of pace in this race. (1) LESLIES PATHTOFAME is knocking on the door and isn’t far of winning. (10) PACIFIC WINTER gets a top rider up and has plenty of speed so the draw is of no concern. He may be hard to catch if finding a few lengths turning for home. (2) GREY OCEAN is never far back and another honest effort is expected.
