The Hollywood Syndicate scored a feature double at Hollywoodbets Scottsville yesterday, both winners ridden by high-flying Keagan de Melo, and the yellow colours with purple stars should be well represented at the Festival Of Speed meeting at the beginning of June.

In the Grade 3 Poinsettia Stakes over 1200m the progressive Sean Tarry-trained Philantropist four-year-old filly Full Velocity was 1.5kg worse off with Favorita (Gimmethegreenlight) from their clash in the Listed Kwa-Zulu Natal Stakes over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville, where Full Velocity had prevailed by 1,50 lengths.

However, that did not stop Full Velocity emerging from the pack in the closing stages to beat Favourita by an even more comfortable two lengths under Keagan de Melo.

Earlier, in the Listed In Full Flight Handicap over 1100m, the Peter Muscutt-trained three-year-old gelding Isivunguvungu (What A Winter) took advantage of his 52.5kg weight to waltz in by 2,50 lengths.

The evergreen Shane Humby-trained Socrates, a seven-year-old gelding by Horse Chestnut, carried second topweight of 60.5kg and finished second.

Isivunguvungu will likely be considerably under sufferance if he lines up in the Grade 1 Golden Horse Sprint, considering the bottom weight for that race has changed to 54kg this year, but the In Full Flight is a traditional pointer to that race so might help him get into the final field.
