Mike de Kock’s tenth Summer Cup has proved elusive and it is in fact 12 years since he last won Johannesburg’s traditional biggest race.
This year he looks to have a good chance of breaking the drought as he has four of the top five on the first log.
Sean Tarry has dominated the Summer Cup recently, winning four of the last five renewals.
He has the other horse in the top five on the log.
Tarry also has won other horse in the top ten.
