There was not much between FORBIDDEN BEAST and THIS TIME ROUND when they met earlier this year. Both need to do more to win but could possibly earn some minor money. SEISMIC EVENT is improving of late but will need to find a few lengths to beat EKORIA. This Gavin Smith-trained filly showed potential on debut when only finding smart filly Chere For Me a bit better. It is hard to look past EKORIA as the winner. There are, however two newcomers from decent trainers so keep an eye on the betting regarding QUELEA.
Trainer Justin Snaith seems to hold a strong hand in the race. KEEP IT SECRET is unbeaten in two starts at this course and was full of running when winning his latest. The step-up in distance is a query. Stable companion I WANT IT ALL was a disappointment last time out but should be suited to this longer distance and should be right there at the finish. PEACE IN OUR WORLD has not lived up to his early potential but has always given the impression 2000m would be more to his liking. Stable companion YOU KNOW WHO was not disgraced last time and must also be considered a possible winner.
A competitive race as they are a modest bunch. VV POWER has returned to form and is overdue a win but he is clearly not to be trusted with the rent money. ACT OF THUNDER did not seem to like the Polytrack last time out. He has also not lived up to expectations but this course and distance should suit and if at his best he could be a bit better than these rivals. GLOBAL BEAT makes his debut and trainer Alan Greeff knows what is needed of him so watch the betting. RARE, RIO SUPREMO and PHEDRA are all capable of getting in the mix.
A competitive race. JOYFUL NOISE has been in good form this season and should be right there at the finish once again. SOUND CHECK is probably at her very best on the Polytrack these days but has to be considered. FLY MY FLAG has beaten the best on her day and is in good form so is clearly the one to beat. GLACIER GOLD is improving and is coming off two decent wins. This is tougher but she may well be up to it. AFTERNOON TEA has been unreliable of late but is course-and-distance suited. DELICASEA could be the surprise package as she clearly needed her last run.
Another decent race but a competitive field. PLEASEDTOMEETYOU looked a big threat going into the closing stages of his last race but could not get past gallant Global Drummer. He will be happy that rival is not around for this race and could go one better. Trainer Alan Greeff has more than one runner in this race with a chance. INHERIT THE RAIN has done the yard proud all season and should be right there once again. WHATEVER NEXT has not lived up to his two-year-old potential but is capable of running well. STRANGER DANGER is very speedy and has a winning chance.
A tough race to be confident in. Although the weights do not favour either of his two raiders trainer Justin Snaith knows what he is doing and do not be surprised if PEUT ETRE MOI and BYE BYE BOMBSHELL fight out the finish. Both come into this on the up and should have no trouble with the course and distance. There has not been much between EUROPEANA, WINTER SCOUT and SWEET THE SOUND when they have met each other and all can be included in the exotics. Trainer Brett Crawford has a good record when raiding the Eastern Cape and FIELD OF VISION must be considered.
SABINA’S PRODIGY only found a bang-in-form rival one too good in his penultimate run. He recouped losses with a solid win last time out and although the step-up in distance is a query he does look the one to beat. FOLLOW THE STAR is already proven over this distance and likes this course so could be the biggest threat. FIND ME UNAFRAID could like this longer distance which he tries for the first time and must be considered. MISS ORANGE is good on her day but has also been very unreliable this year.
A competitive end to a nice day of racing. STAR OF THE SOUTH was a bit of a disappointment last time out but is clearly capable of better. The same can also be said of stable companion TEOFILIA. Another Greeff-trained runner, EL ROMIACHI, has been in good form this year and has a winning chance. FERRARI ICE should have got a lot closer to his rival when runner-up last time out and has been very consistent of late and should be right there at the finish. Snaith beat FERRARI ICE with Keep It Secret last time out and sends out AUS BOB to repeat that task. MOON GAME is holding form and has a place chance.
