Twice Hollywoodbets Durban July-winner Do It Again can make yet another winning start to a Champions Season campaign.
He is well in at the weights in the Grade 2 WSB 1900 to be run at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday.
Therefore, the Justin Snaith-trained seven-year-old can go all out to win without being concerned about being punished by the handicapper.
The last time he was so well weighted he failed quite dismally in the Grade 2 Glorious Goodwood Premier Trophy over 1800m at Kenilworth, finishing out of the money.
However, he thrives every winter in KZN and in fact in his four visits here he has won his first start on no fewer than three occasions.
On every occasion his first run in KZN has followed a layoff after the Cape Summer Season.
His only defeat in his Champions Season opener was in the Covid interrupted season of 2020 when a narrow third to Rainbow Bridge in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge.
He comes in this year off his usual layoff on Saturday and is distance suited.
He showed in last year’s Hollywoodbets Durban July that he is evergreen and was an unlucky loser.
He has been looking in fine fettle at Summerveld.
He has a fair draw of six out of 11.
Anton Marcus gets the ride.
Marcus clinched his record-breaking fifth July victory on Do It Again 2018 and although he has not won on him in six further rides, three of those were at Kenilworth and the other three were close up efforts against the best in the country, either at weight for age level or in the July.
Do It Again will take a power of beating on Saturday.
