5 Il Etait Temps (FR)
D. E. Mullins | W. P. Mullins, Ireland
12/1
He was making his hurdling debut when third in the Spring, coming from further back in a race that favoured a more forward pitch and finishing off his race strongly. He is still a reasonable each-way price.

16 Colonel Mustard (FR)
Conor Orr | Mrs Lorna Fowler, Ireland
7/1
He finished 35 lengths ahead of My Mate Mozzie at the Dublin Racing Festival – although I don’t believe that form – but is still receiving weight from him here. A second-season novice hurdler, he has high-class form not far behind Echoes In Rain and Jonbon.

2 My Mate Mozzie (IRE)
Kieren Buckley | Gavin Patrick Cromwell, Ireland
20/1
He was clearly being prepared for this target with a change of tactics behind Sir Gerhard at left-handed Leopardstown last time. This novice is smart – he would have won the Grade One Royal Bond but for making a hash of the last flight.

6 Galvin (IRE)
Davy Russell | Gordon Elliott, Ireland
7/2
He was my ante-post selection but I wouldn’t swap my position on him now. He is improving at the right time, boasts plenty of track experience, stays stoutly and has shouldered his way into Gold Cup consideration by dint of his results.

5 Mount Ida (IRE)
Davy Russell | Gordon Elliott, Ireland
9/4
Without the collision that she caused by jumping right two out at Fairyhouse, I doubt Elimay would have managed to cope with Mount Ida. So, on balance and encouraged by news of her back treatment, I prefer Davy Russell’s mount here.
