Fresh off his daughter Alice B Toklas winning Saturday’s Listed Amusnet Devon Air Stakes at Hollywoodbets Greyville, Varsfontein Stud’s inform sire Master Of My Fate had a feature race double at Turffontein on Sunday.

Not only did Master Of My Fate gelding Aladdin’s Lamp win Sunday’s G3 TAB Jubilee Stakes (1800m) but another gelded son of the sire, Errol Flynn, won the same day’s TAB Egoli Mile (1600m).

Consistent five-year-old Aladdin’s Lamp picked up his biggest win to date when he won the Jubilee Stakes.

Under a great ride from Callan Murray, the Mike and Mathew De Kock trained Aladdin’s Lamp raced well off the pace early on before storming home down the inside of the track to get up and win by half a length.

Bred by Varsfontein Stud, and owned by Mr Murugasa, Aladdin’s Lamp has won seven of 24 outings, with his first graded win pushing his earnings to R927 426.

Out of the Judpot mare Little Genie, Aladdin’s Lamp had finished runner up in both the Listed WSB Aquanaut Handicap and Listed Wilgerbosdrift Caradoc Gold Cup earlier this season.

His inform sire Master Of My Fate is also the sire of exciting three-year-old Errol Flynn. The latter made it four wins from just six starts when he won the Egoli Mile on Sunday.

Rated highly by trainer Joe Soma, the gelding, under Keagan De Melo, claimed the first leg of the Highveld Winter Series when he waltzed home to score by more than two and a half lengths.

Bred by Sandra Michelle Ajax and Target Acquired, Errol Flynn races for the Wernars Family, Dayalan Chinsammy, and TKP Racing.

The exciting three-year-old is out of the What A Winter mare What A Player and is thus bred on the same Master Of My Fate/What A Winter cross as star filly Anotherdanceforme and the latter’s stakes winning sister Princess Izzy.
