A Hollywoodbets Durban July press release had previously stated, “To uphold the integrity of this world-class contest, Race Coast will assemble a five-person national panel of racing experts, responsible for determining the final field.”
The five has turned out to be four and they are:
Lennon Maharaj – Chief Handicapper.
Kurt Felix – Race Coast’s Cape Racing Racing Coordinator
Aveen Sewpersad – National Racing Bureau Manager
Raf Sheik – Race Coast KZN Racing Executive.
The four experts are also responsible for forming the July logs.
These four have an unenviable task this season as the competition for places with the race now carrying a R10 million stake is going to be greater than ever before.
