Richard Fourie and Alan Greeff combined for a four-timer at Fairview today and it included another feature win for Anotherdanceforme, who proved she can stay 2000m, at least against inferior opposition.
Greeff went past the 100 wins for the season mark, while Fourie reached the 150 win mark.
The Varsfontein Stud-bred Peter Moor-owned Master Of My Fate filly Anotherdanceforme has now won nine of her ten starts with her only defeat being when unplaced in the Gr 2 Western Cape Fillies Championship over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.
Today in the Non-Black Type Est Cape Oaks over 2000m she started at 1/10 odds despite it being the first time she had raced beyond 1600m.
She jumped from draw three in the six-horse field and there was a scary moment for punters when she reared as she jumped and appeared to hit her head on the top of the starting gate.
However, Fourie later said it was not as bad as that and he described it as a “bunny hop”, while hitting her head was likely an optical illusion.
A further concern as when she got caught one wide near the back without cover.
However, she moved through the gears easily in the straight.
The 50/1 shot Royal Missy, who had sat in third in the running on the rail, just ahead and inside of Anotherdanceforme, gave some cheek and threatened to go with her too the line.
However, Fourie just need to give her one smack for her to ahead and win by a length.
Homing Pigeon was a 5,75 length third.
Dean Smith was the only other player to score more than one win on the day, landing a double.
Greeff is now on 101 wins for the season and has done it at a strike rate of 15.54%.
Smith is on 46 wins at 12.64%.
Fourie is on 150 wins at 22.16%.
