Kenneth Pillay’s Kestorm Investments and trainer Tony Peter celebrated a Grade 1 exacta at Turffontein on Champions Day when the newly blinkered Buffalo Storm Cody blew his opposition away under a rampant Richard Fourie to win the R1 million TAB Gr1 Computaform Sprint.

While this was his personal first, Tony Peter’s retired Dad Paul won the Computaform Sprint in 2022 with Winterbach Stud stallion Master Archie
The field for the 1000m sprint was reduced to 14 runners after three scratchings, but produced a grandstand finish worthy of its glittering history.
After Mover And Shaker had led Chocolate Soldier early, Richard Fourie produced the 8-10 favourite Buffalo Storm Cody who only had to grab his stablemate Taxi To The Moon (17-2) late in the race.
Surging forward, Buffalo Storm Cody gave Fourie his third feature success of the afternoon to win by 1,90 lengths in a time of 56,55 secs.
While he had not celebrated a winner up to that point, Sean Tarry would have been well pleased with the showing of his Drakenstein raced fairer sex pair of 5yo Mia Moo (33-1) and the 3yo Green Diamond (25-1) who completed to quartet in very courageous showings.
The winner was bred by Narrow Creek Stud and is a son of Wilgerbosdrift-based Redoute’s Choice stallion Buffalo Bill Cody out of the one-time winning Trippi mare, Musical Romance.
A R410 000 Cape Yearling Sale purchase, Buffalo Storm Cody took his win tally to 10, with 6 places from his 18 starts and stakes of R2 056 500.
