Gavin Lerena and Craig Zackey each scored doubles at the Vaal on Thursday as the battle for supremacy in the national jockeys championship continued.
Lerena increased his lead on second-placed Richard Fourie to six and he is seven in front of third-placed Zackey.
Lerena is on 245 wins achieved at a strike rate of 25.31%, Fourie is on 239 wins at 25.16% and Zackey is on 238 wins at 17.55%.
Fabian Habib also scored a double on the day.
Habib is on 42 wins for the season at 13.33%.
Tony Peter has the most wins on the Highveld for the season on 87, with Sean Tarry next best on 71, Paul Matchett is in third with 52, Lucky Houdalakis is next best on 47 and Habib is in fifth place on 42.
