Gavin Lerena went back into second place on the natonal jockeys log after a treble at the Vaal on Thursday.
Robyn Klaasen and Tony Peter both saddled doubles.
Lerena is now on 227 wins for the season achieved at a strike rate of 25.06% and is five behind Richard Fourie, who is on 232 at 24.41%, and he is two ahead of Craig Zackey, who is on 225 at 17.43% in the enthralling race for the title.
Lerena is going for a third title, reigning champion Fourie is going for his second title and Zackey is going for a first.
Klaasen is on 23 wins at 10.70%.
Peter is on 83 wins at 16.57%.
