The ten Vercingetorix lots which looked most likely before the Sale to attract most attention in order of preference were:
Lot 49 (went for R2,200,00)
Lot 28 (went for R2,250,000)
Lot 277
Lot 62 (went for R2,400,000)
Lot 1 (went for R3,250,000)
Lot 244
Lot 222
Lot 336
Lot 311
Lot 323
The big question is will Vercingetorix be able to better the record-breaking average he achieved at the Cape Racing Sales Premier Yearling Sale of R1,661,364 (for 22 lots sold)?
Or will one of his lots match or better the record price of R9 million, which one of his progeny got at the latter Sale to equal the SA record?
His average after Day 1 was R1,566,667 and 8 of 12 pots went for seven figure amounts with the cheapest being R600,000 and the most expensive being R3,250,000.
