1 3:40 PM – Download The Race Card Online www.goldcircle.co.za Open Maiden
The first race of the day is an Open Maiden and is quite competitive. SERPENTINE FIRE is improving and if makes use of his decent barrier draw should go close. Stablemates TICKALOX and LIFE ON THE TIDES need to be considered. The former improved last time and has gone close at this venue while the latter is well bred and needed his first start. LONG STREET finished ahead of SERPENTINE FIRE and has run some decent races. She should be right there. FIRE TIGER can start to show in his third start. OWNER OF CREATION has upset potential from gate No 3.
2 4:15 PM – Catch KZN Racing Via Live Streaming On www.galloptv.co.za Progress Plate
ICY BLAST joins the stable of Mike and Mathew De Kock. He has fair Western Cape form and comes into the race as the best weighted runner. Watch out for Erupt colt ISIVIVANE who won a nice race second time out and could be anything after a rest and gelding. He should be looking for further, however. IMMAH lacked extra over further but he was returning from a break as well. Stripping fitter he should give a good account of himself over this trip. PEREGRINE FALCON has drawn well on his local debut. He was lightly raced in the Western Cape but showed potential. INGQWELE is capable and must be watched.
3 4:55 PM – www.tabgold.co.za Open Maiden
Another Open Maiden and the exotics could pay well. PRINCE FLORIAN made good progress to finish runner-up after having things go wrong. He could be on the right track now and demands respect. FOREST DRUM was a well beaten fourth but that was only his third start and he jumped from a wide draw. He has drawn well this time and could make good improvement. TREND MAKER on the other hand has had good draws but this time has to do it from a wide barrier. He has shown enough to be in the money. FIRELIGHTER (wide draw) and LAVA BURST (good draw) are not out of it.
4 5:30 PM – www.galloptv.co.za Maiden Plate
If CHERRY OH BABY takes to the track, the four-year-old Danon Platina filly should be hard to beat. She has very good Highveld form, hasn’t drawn badly and should see out the distance on pedigree. HARUN AL RASHID was touched off on his local debut and could be dangerous as he will strip fitter this time and is the mount of talented Andrew Fortune. A wide draw is a small concern. SAXON DYNASTY and FORTUNE HUNTER have run decent races as well but both have drawn even wider out. GREEN MILE is holding form and if enjoying the extra should earn.
5 6:05 PM – tabGOLD Score 6 And Score 8 Class 5
GALAXY EXPLORER finally got his confidence boosted and as a result could notch up another win. It looks the right race but he has drawn a bit wide. CONNOISSEUR wasn’t far off GALAXY EXPLORER the last time they met and from gate No 1 could be the one to catch this time. ANIMAL IMPACT is another who should challenge for the win on form but he has drawn very wide. PORFIRIO won a nice race last time on the poly but has won on turf and must be respected. EVENTIDOR could be the surprise package even if he has yet to win on the turf. More can earn.
6 6:45 PM – Follow In The Box Seat Podcast C Stakes
Three-year-old fillies HODGEPODGE and SASCHA’S DREAM are well weighted and have also drawn well so could fight it out. Both have decent form and it may boil down to who sees it out better. But it doesn’t end there. FRENCH TRIP is a male with decent form and he won a nice race last time out. He is not well in at the weights but is consistent and should be right there. More can be expected from ARVERNI KING who caught the eye in his second run after a rest behind sudden improver JAHAM. He has a wide draw to overcome. STORMY CHOICE can get into the placings.
7 7:20 PM – Greyville Convention Centre B Stakes
TYRCONNELL is in good form. He has run well at this venue without winning but he is running over his best distance this time and should go close. THISISWHATITMEANS ran an amazing race after a layoff. If he sees it out he could notch up another win. SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI has also drawn well and is weighted to win but needs to find best form. Stablemate SLYTHERIN disappointed after a promising win. He can only improve. BOWIE finished behind SAVANTRIX and NELSON BAY last time but looks a lot better than that. Nice race.
8 7:55 PM – Gallop TV YouTube Channel Class 5
SUPER FAST can go one better after finishing a good second on the poly over the same distance in his last outing. He has good form over the track and trip. But NOW I GOT YOU is also knocking at the door. He could prefer the switch to the turn after running decent races down the straight. PURPLE POWAHOUSE has been frustrating but was beaten in a close call after a rest. He could get the better of his rivals this time having drawn in pole position. TEEREX (well drawn) and EL DRAQUE (drawn wide) have been disappointing but must be considered.
9 8:30 PM – Hollywoodbets Bright Future Class 5 (F & M)
Wide open fillies and mares handicap to end. GLAMORZ has run decent races at this venue and must be respected in this kind of race. Watch out for Highveld raider HEIRLOOM who is capable and has run well in some tougher contests. DRIVE BY won a nice race last time. She has drawn well and should have every chance of finally scoring on the turf. DAWN SURPRISE took males to the wire last time and is knocking at the door. SPIRITED FLIGHT has work to do to overcome her wide draw in time but could get the race run to suit. More in it.
