The farm will be bringing a four strong draft to this year’s Premier Yearling Sale, with this quartet made up of yearlings sired by Gimmethegreenlight, Rafeef, Real Gone Kid and resident sire Horizon.

Lady Windermere herself a half-sister to three stakes winners, notably G3 Byerley Turk Plate winner Olympic Flag, is a direct descendant of Fleur, whose other notable descendants include Classic Flag and Summer Pudding, both of whom were named Horse Of The Year in South Africa.

Western Winter, the sire of Lady Windermere, is the broodmare sire of more than 60 stakes winners including champions Carry On Alice, Good Traveller and Past Master.

Lot 69: f Rafeef -Rock Trip

South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2019-2020, Rafeef goes from strength to strength as a sire. The filly on sale, a half-sister to a winner by Horizon, is out of the winning Trippi mare Rock Trip. The latter was produced by speedy Listed Laisserfaire Stakes winner Sunshine Rock, whose sire Rock Of Gibraltar enjoyed tremendous success in South Africa with a handful of runners.

Sunshine Rock hails from an outstanding female line with her relatives including Australian champion Trapeze Artist and G1 winners Boardwalk Angel, Coogee Walk and Crawl.

This filly is bred on the same Rafeef/Trippi cross as multiple graded stakes winner William Robertson, who recently won for a 13th time.

Lemon Delight, in turn, is out of a three time winning daughter of Western Winter and her granddam, Fragrant Lady, is a stakes winning daughter of Elliodor.

This is a wonderful family which has produced such top-class fillies as champion Scented Royal, high-class Hong Kong sprinter Sweet Sanette and G2 Fillies Championship winner Philippa Johnson, among others.
