Cape Racing Sales Breeze Up & Unbroken 2yo Sale

Anton Shepherd’s Beaumont Stud is sending a couple of Breeze Up candidates to market on Sunday, 27 October 2024, along with five unbroken 2YOs. They are being offered at Cape Racing Sales’ upcoming auction, which will be staged at Hollywoodbets Durbanville.

Lot 50 is a Captain of All first foal out of Master of My Fate mare, Underthemistletoe, who is a half to Michaelmas Handicap winner, Boundless Bash.

Lot 59, World in Unison is also a first foal, being a One World filly out of Var mare, Boundless Deep. There is plenty of Black Type on the female side stretching back four generations.

Lot 74 is an unbroken 2YO by Canford Cliffs ex Jade Vine, a winner of six races. The stallion took out the G1 Irish Two Thousand Guineas during a distinguished racing career and has since sired 26 SWs from 757 runners.

Following immediately afterwards is Lot 75, an unnamed Futura filly out of the Vercingetorix mare, Jetrix. She is a first foal.

William Longsword is enjoying recent success with the high-class Back in Business and Gr1 Cape Flying Championship victor Dyce. Beamont is offering one of his sons as Lot 89, out of the 3x winning Philanthropist mare Outlander.

The United States (by Galileo) has produced a filly out of Pippi, a neat producer responsible for smart sprinter Melech and Captain Opie who have won a dozen races between them. Lot 92 can be viewed in stable B28.

Multiple Gr1 hero, Soqrat is an exciting newcomer to the breeding barns -currently, his oldest progeny are three-year-olds. Scatman (Lot 94) is one of his youngsters, out of Radiant Splendour, a Lope de Vega, an Aussie mare who won a couple of races. The second dam, Heavenly Glow was the Champion 3YO Filly in Oz during 2007/8 so there is considerable international substance to this page.

Beaumont Stud is also an agent for a Rafeef colt (Lot 68, named Kliptown) and a Canford Cliffs colt (Lot 100). Both mares will be familiar to racegoers – Kliptown’s dam, Freedom Charter won Gr3 races and was placed in Gr2’s in the Cape and KZN as a classy sprinter. She could be a potent match with Gr1 Computaform winning speedball, Rafeef.

The well-performed Qui Danzig mare, Six Blue Notes attained a place in the Gr1 Golden Slipper and Thekwini Stakes at Greyville as a smart juvenile and so Rockabilly is worth a careful check in stable C18.

The genial Shepherd will be on hand to answer any enquiries and assist with viewings before auctioneers Andrew Miller and Tom Hodgson start brandishing their gavels.
