Gimme A Nother is in quarantine and is headed for the USA to be trained by Graham Motion.
The Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein-bred unbeaten champion is still owned by Stephen and Jessica Jell’s Mauritzfontein Stud.
Trainer Mike de Kock is no longer involved but Motion has proved his liking for South African-breds through the like of Gypsy’s Warning, Beach Bomb and Isivunguvungu and is sure to be a suitable replacement trainer.
The Gimmethegreenlight filly has had seven starts for sevens wins, including the Gr 3 Betway Fillies Mile, the Gr 2 Mike de Kock Ipi Tombe Challenge over 1600m, the Gr 2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas, the Gr 1 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Classic over 1800m and the Gr 1 Empress Club Stakes over 1600m.
She got better with each race and her exhilarating finish became more and more impressive.
It is not clear yet whether she will be ready in time, or whether she qualifies, to have a tilt at the Breeders Cup.
The Gr 1 Breeders Cup Fillies and Mares Turf over a mile would be her obvious target if she is going to be ready in time and eligible.
The first direct flight to the EU for 14 years happened on August 17 and carried 32 horses and the next flight is set for Sunday, September 22. Gimme A Nother will be on the latter flight and will be transported from Europe to the USA later.
